10. San Diego Chargers: 202.5 Points
Top Three QBs: Dan Fouts, Philip Rivers, John Hadl
The Chargers come in impressively high on this list for never winning a Super Bowl. They’re the only team in the top 10 that hasn’t won the big game; which demonstrates how great their quarterback play really has been. Sure, none of their signal callers have led them to the promised land, but they’ve been often dominant in the regular season of the Super Bowl Era. Fouts is one of the all-time greats and was named All-Pro twice and was invited to six Pro Bowls. Rivers will most likely pass Fouts for all-time Chargers wins this year and has also been great. He’s thrown for 4,000 yards five times and 30 touchdowns twice. The third quarterback of the trio is Hadl, also saw a lot of success as a three-time Pro Bowler and three-time passer of 3,000 yards. Rivers will continue to lead the Chargers for the next chunk of years. Will he eventually be able to get the Chargers their first Super Bowl? SoCal certainly hopes so.

9. New York Giants: 226 Points
Top Three QBs: Eli Manning, Phil Simms, Fran Tarkenton
The New York Football Giants have been one of the most successful franchises in NFL history and their quarterback play is a big reason why. Manning and Simms both bagged two Super Bowls for the Giants and they collected three Super Bowl MVPs between them. Tarkenton only spent five years in New York, but leads all three with four Pro Bowl appearances. This trio of quarterbacks combined for 12 total 3,000-yard passing seasons and nine Pro Bowls. Manning is the only one to throw for 30 touchdowns in a season, a feat he accomplished once. In the early 1960s the Giants had Y.A. Tittle slinging the ball around as good as anyone ever had before. The Future at quarterback for the Giants is Manning and he will spend a few more years as a quality starter. His legacy is one of the most confusing in NFL history. He’s won two championships, but can also look lost out on the field at time. Regardless, his and Giants’ recent accomplishments speak for themselves.

8. Denver Broncos: 234 Points
Top Three QBs: John Elway, Peyton Manning, Jake Plummer
Denver made it safely into the top 10 of this list because of one man — John Elway. His 148 regular season wins are impressive enough before mentioning his two Super Bowls, his AP MVP award, and nine Pro Bowl selections. Not to mention his 11 total 3,000-yard passing seasons. Although Manning has only been with the team for two full seasons, he’s added a ridiculous amount of points to the Broncos’ point total. He’s the only Broncos quarterback, and one two players, to throw for 50 touchdowns in a single season (Tom Brady). His two All-Pro selections lead all of Denver’s signal callers, too. Plummer contributed a couple Pro Bowl appearances and a 4,000-yard passing season as well. Manning, I would imagine, will be the Broncos’ starter for a couple more seasons, although I wouldn’t be shocked if he retires soon either (especially if they win it all). After him, the Broncos will most likely have to rebuild at the quarterback position and elsewhere.

7. Dallas Cowboys: 255 Points
Top Three QBs: Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Tony Romo
“America’s Team” has been one of America’s best quarterbacked teams over the entirety of the Super Bowl Era. Aikman’s three and Staubach’s two Super Bowls are enough to understand why the Cowboys broke the top 10 of this list. But their success extends to the regular season, too, with 15 Pro Bowls between these three quarterbacks, including Romo. They’ve also combined for nine total 3,000-yard passing season. Romo is the only one of the three to pass for 4,000 yards and he’s done it four times. All three have won at least 67 games and they’re one of four teams with two Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks in their history. Dallas should continue to add points to this total with Romo over the next few seasons, but I don’t expect them moving up a spot anytime soon. Romo’s eventual replacement could get on the roster in a year or two.

6. Pittsburgh Steelers: 269.5 Points
Top Three QBs: Terry Bradshaw, Ben Roethlisberger, Kordell Stewart
The Steelers are one of the NFL’s most historic franchises of all-time. Despite being known for dominating defenses and a commitment to running the ball they’ve featured some great quarterback play over the years. Bradshaw was the first NFL quarterback to win three Super Bowls (and four for that matter). He was a two-time Super Bowl MVP and a one time AP MVP. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and twice had seasons with at least five rushing touchdowns — he was more athletic than he’s often given credit for. The second quarterback in the Steelers’ trio is a two-time Super Bowl winner. Roethlisberger has passed for 4,000 yards three times and won 98 games for the Steelers. He’ll most likely pass Bradshaw in total wins next year. Stewart had the best legs and ran for five touchdowns three times and 10 touchdowns once. Roethlisberger will be the quarterback for the for at least the next few years, but they are getting close to having to start looking for his replacement (beyond Landry Jones that is).
