Marvin Jones, Vontaze Burfict Injury Updates

Cincinnati Bengals No. 2 wide receiver Marvin Jones has yet to appear in a game this season, as he tweaked his ankle at practice last week just after he was finally healed from a significant offseason injury. Jones has now suffered two ankle injuries and a broken foot this year, and all of this bad luck has prevented him from getting started on what should be a breakout third season for the 24-year-old Cal product.

  • According to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Paul Dehner Jr., Jones still isn’t practicing, as he was spotted in “sweats and gym shoes” today. The Bengals will face the struggling Carolina Panthers this week, and Jones looks questionable once again. If he can play, then last season’s ten-touchdown WR could have a big game opposite of A.J. Green.

Star outside linebacker Vontaze Burfict is, however, back at practice, as Dehner reports that the explosive defensive playmaker is “in full helmet and pads” and that it “looks like things are looking up for him”.

This is definitely great news to counter the fact that Jones isn’t practicing, as it means Burfict will be a lock to play this week against Carolina if he can avoid any setbacks. Burfict has been dealing with concussions throughout the season, only appearing in the team’s first two games.
