Marvin Jones Injury: Cincinnati Bengals WR ruled out

facebooktwitterreddit

The Cincinnati Bengals will have to rely on their running game tomorrow against the Carolina Panthers with A.J. Green already ruled out, and the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Paul Dehner Jr. reported earlier today that the Bengals have also officially ruled Marvin Jones out for tomorrow’s game. Without Green and Jones, the Bengals will have to rely on Mohamed Sanu, with his only saving grace being the Panthers weaknesses in the secondary. If the Panthers stout front seven stands its ground, then the Bengals could find it hard to score points if Andy Dalton doesn’t make up for it.

  • Jones was never expected to suit up, as he never practiced this week. He’s still dealing with an ankle injury, and Bengals fans can only hope one of either him or Green is able to return shortly. The Bengals listed Jones as questionable on the injury report, but it’s clear that Marvin Lewis was playing games yesterday; he’s still not in playing shape.

The 2014 season is supposed to be a breakout campaign for the No. 2 wideout, but he hasn’t even been able to take  a snap due to a variety of injuries. Once he is able to get healthy again, he should have a profound impact on the Bengals offense, though it won’t change their run-pass ratio.
