New York Jets Dee Milliner goes down with injury
New York Jets top cornerback Dee Milliner has shutdown potential, but he’ll never be able to fulfill that potential if he’s always injured. Milliner has already missed three games this season, and he appeared on the injury report with a probable listing for a quad injury last week after missing the team’s Week 3 and 4 losses to the NFC North’s Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.

Per Around The NFL, Milliner has suffered his third injury of the season, and this could the worst one yet for both him and the Jets sagging- and thin- secondary. Milliner went down with an apparent right leg or foot injury on the Denver Broncos 37-yard field goal from Brandon McManus, to give the Broncos an early lead. The injury, by all accounts, doesn’t appear to look good, but it’s still too early to guess how severe it could end up being.
We can only hope that Milliner is able to shake it off, but I’m willing to bet that his day is over. Demaryius Thomas already added two catches for 61 yards on that first drive after waking up from his slumber in a big way last week, so he and the rest of the Broncos offense could tear apart the Jets secondary with even more gusto now that Milliner is down with an unspecified injury (it looks like an Achilles injury, which is very bad news if true).
Update: The good news is that the Jets announced that Milliner has a “right ankle” injury, but the bad news is that they immediately ruled him out.
