The San Francisco 49ers will take on the St. Louis Rams tonight on Monday Night Football, and we’ll get to see what Rams quarterback Austin Davis is made of as he faces a fully legit pass defense for possibly the first time this season. Davis has shredded some poor pass defenses like the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, but he’s put up magnificent numbers, looking extremely accurate, poised, and efficient. He’s done everything asked of him in moving the ball for the Rams offense, and he could really prove a point to the rest of the league as this year’s Nick Foles if he plays well tonight and next week against the Seattle Seahawks.

Anyway, let’s get back to the 49ers. Star tight end Vernon Davis has missed some games this season, with his latest injury being a back ailment he suffered after a absorbing a tough hit in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Davis is listed questionable on the injury report for tonight’s game, and he stated that he wasn’t sure if he’ll play.
According to ESPN NFL Nation’s Paul Gutierrez, the TE is indeed active, and that’s excellent news. He was tentatively expected to play today after managing to get practice in during the week, but he did need to be a game-time decision. It will be interesting to see how he looks tonight, especially since he should have a good matchup on tap.
