Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones is still trying to work his way back onto the practice field, as he hasn’t been able to play in a game this season due to a variety of ailments. His most recent injury is an ankle issue, and there are worries that he could require surgery. The injury has been much slower to heal than expected and has come after the wideout dealt with a severe foot injury in the offseason.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Paul Dehner Jr., Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis stated that Jones hasn’t made any progress on his injury since missing yet another game ,and this is definitely concerning. Jones has made no progress at all since initially suffering this latest ankle issue, and, if he continues to make little headway, the Bengals could be forced to let him go under the knife and even shut him down for the season.
It will be interesting to see if we get any updates on Jones’s status this week as the Bengals get ready to face the Indianapolis Colts after tying the Carolina Panthers yesterday. With A.J. Green injured, Jones’s health going forward becomes even more important, though Green won’t be out for too long. It sucks to see that Jones continues to deal with injury issues, because the 2014 season was supposed to be a breakout campaign for the talented 24-year-old.
