Greg Little signs with Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals could use some depth at the wide receiver position with both A.J. Green and Marvin Jones out with injuries, and it’s possible that the Bengals could miss both players for yet another week. Green is tentatively expected to miss another week after aggravating a toe injury last week, but the team will give him a shot at suiting up against the Indianapolis Colts this week. Meanwhile, Jones still can’t get onto the field, and it’s gotten so bad that he could end up going under the knife.

Per a source close to Pro Football Talk, the Bengals signed former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Greg Little as depth today, and it will be interesting to see if this is an indication that the team expects Green, Jones, or both players to be out. Mohamed Sanu came up huge against the Carolina Panthers struggling pass defense last week, and the running game looked awesome. Andy Dalton continues to do well under genius offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, but the Little signing makes sense in order to help replenish depth at the position.

Last season, Little caught 41 passes for 465 yards for the Browns, but it’s clear that he’s nothing more than depth chart fodder due to his inconsistent play. He became well-known in Cleveland for his frustrating drops, but Little does have raw talent and can break off significant plays with his ability to generate yards after the catch.
