Interesting NFL Crimes Infograph; Each Team Ranked By Arrests Since 2000

The NFL has faced a significant amount of bad press this year. From domestic abuse and child abuse to the commissioner potentially covering things up — it’s been a rough 2014 for the NFL. And that’s not even mentioning the concussion issues or the political incorrectness of the name of the team from Washington. That said, crimes committed by NFL players are nothing new. This unfortunate phenomenon has been going on for years, decades really. It’s just that today people are, thankfully, expressing anger about it. Plus, the internet allows nothing to stay secret for long.

But what is it about playing in the NFL that makes players think they can commit crimes and get away with it? Maybe it’s the fact that when you have millions of dollars in your bank account you think you can do whatever or have less to worry about? You know what they say, “more money, more problems.” I think that saying is almost strictly about NFL players. But not all NFL teams are producing (or harboring) players that commit crimes. Some teams have been much more disciplined, while others have been down right horrible at staying out of trouble.

Kudos to the Texans, they rarely come in first in NFL lists, but this is one No. 1 ranking that they, and their fans, should be proud of. The Vikings on the other hand… Yikes. They’re at the center of the newest controversy with Adrian Peterson and atop this list as the team with the most arrests — remember the ‘love boat’ scandal? Hopefully this infograph forces the executives in Minneosta, Cincinnati, and Denver to change the culture of their franchises, it’s very much needed. In fact, all franchises need to face the music about players committing crimes. It can’t be stopped completely, but it can be more controlled than it has been.

Thanks to QPrism, a part of Dish Network, for putting together this awesome visual of the epidemic of crime in the NFL in recent years. Below you can see which teams get arrested the most, what crimes NFL players are committing the most, and what the NFL has been doing about it. Hopefully things begin to change for the better.
