Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver A.J. Green is looking less and less likely to play in this week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, as he was already tentatively expected to be out after aggravating a toe injury at practice last week. Green was easily ruled out last week against the Carolina Panthers, but the Bengals have held out hope that he can return to health in time to play against the Colts, a fellow AFC playoff team.

According to ESPN NFL Nation’s Coley Harvey, Green was among those not at practice today, and it’s disappointing news for fantasy owners and those hoping that the Bengals superstar wideout would play today. Now, the Bengals have to hope that Green will be able to heal up in time to face the rival Baltimore Ravens. At this point, it looks like he’ll be fine by then, but nobody should expect him to play this week.
It will be interesting to see if Green misses practice again tomorrow, because that would confirm that he won’t be playing. If he does practice, then that could make him a game-time decision, which would make things interesting indeed. So far this season, Green has 17 receptions for 314 yards and two touchdowns, generating plenty of big plays for the Bengals offense.
