Pete Carroll wants to get rid of the inactive list for game day and it makes complete sense. Before I go off on a random rant, here is what Carroll thinks per Pro Football Talk:
"“Why do we have a limited number of guys dressing every week?” Carroll said Wednesday. “These guys are fantastic players that work their tail off. Why can’t we have 53 guys dress and get them all out there? Everybody could do that, We’re paying them. They’re practicing and they’re ready. If for nothing else, to help other guys stay healthy longer. Get more rotation so that guys can stay healthy and contribute. I wish they could.”"
Why in the world is there a list of inactive players? Why in the world are there 7 players on the 53-man roster that have to sit on the bench and watch? Especially in a game that is so physical that a number of players get injured all the time.
The league added more players onto the roster for the preseason, the team added more players on the practice squad but the league has not done anything to the roster for the regular season. The league needs to allow more players to get in the game especially with the violent nature of the game.
