Jimmy Graham will be a game-time decision

New Orleans Saints star tight end Jimmy Graham suffered a shoulder injury in Week 5 before the bye week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the injury immediately looked like it would be result in a multi-week absence. Graham’s status for this weeks’ game against the Detroit Lions is totally up in the air, though it seems like most people tentatively expect him to be held out of this week’s game. He could even be considered questionable for the following week’s contest against the Green Bay Packers, but we’ll have to take things one step at a time with the Saints all-important TE.

  • Graham is officially listed as questionable on the Saints injury report, and ESPN NFL Nation’s Mike Triplett reports that he will be a game-time decision. Head coach Sean Payton stated that the team will evaluate his star pass-catcher’s status on Sunday morning before making a final call, so we’ll all have to wait until then.

The Saints opponents are also expected to miss their star playmaker, as Calvin Johnson is listed questionable after missing last week’s game with an ankle aggravation. Johnson seems to have an even smaller chance of playing as Graham, but both are questionable and should be regarded as game-time calls. While Graham isn’t sure he’ll play, he has still been experiencing some pain despite making a little bit of progress on the injury. If he plays, then he pretty much has to be on some sort of a snap count, though he’ll still be a danger in that case (we learned that lesson last year).
