Baltimore Ravens love Will Hill
Baltimore Ravens free safety Will Hill was always expected to be active for today’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, and the team has indeed announced that Hill will be active today and ready to make his Ravens debut. There’s no doubt that he’s one of the NFL’s most talented defensive backs, as he is elite in coverage in every sense, as he shored up the New York Giants downfield before being unceremoniously dumped by the team after his umpteenth off-field incident. Hill, who is a former Florida Gator, has a serious weed problem, but the Ravens took a flier on the troubled safety because of his immense talent.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that we should “expect a lot from” Hill today, because the Ravens love him as a player. Safety was a big need for the team in the offseason, but they managed to fill it later on in the offseason by signing Hill, as they decided to draft talented and well-rounded Alabama inside linebacker C.J. Mosley instead of adding his teammate Ha Ha Clinton-Dix at safety.
Hill should be tested today by Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, with some deep routes by Devin Hester, who will have an expanded role with Harry Douglas out. Roddy White has been poor this season, but he’s still another player Hill will likely be asked to cover in some capacity. With Lardarius Webb, Jimmy Smith, and Hill, the Ravens have a very nice-looking secondary on paper, especially if Matt Elam can get over his coverage woes.
