Jadeveon Clowney ‘very anxious’ to play
Houston Texans star edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney suffered a torn meniscus in the team’s Week 1 game against the Washington Redskins, and his initial timeline had him on track to return around this week. Clowney is drawing closer to a return, but he is going to be a game-time decision tomorrow after getting some practice in on Friday and Saturday. He never practiced until Friday since he first suffered the injury, but he still isn’t a lock to play.

The Texans have officially listed Clowney as questionable for their Monday Night Football tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and head coach Bill O’Brien stated that the No. 1 overall pick has a 50-50 shot at suiting up. Clowney stated that he’s having a little bit of trouble moving laterally, so some believe that the more prudent course of action is to hold the South Carolina product out until next week’s game against the rival Tennessee Titans.
Per Texans official site beat writer Drew Dougherty, Clowney unsurprisingly stated that he is “very anxious” to get back on the field tomorrow night, “Very anxious to be out there with my teammates playing in a NFL game because I haven’t played since the first game. I’m looking forward to playing again and just taking it one day at a time and getting back out there.”
If Clowney is able to suit up against the Steelers, then he could receive a limited workload as the Texans look to ease him back into things.
