Jarrett Boykin, Tramon Williams Injury Updates

The Green Bay Packers will have cornerback Tramon Williams out there today, as the game-time decision is indeed officially active against the Carolina Panthers. His ability to play today was made all the more important when Panthers “X” receiver and main outside threat Kelvin Benjamin was cleared to play today after being in the concussion protocol following a hit from Cincinnati Bengals OLB Vontaze Burfict last week.

  • Williams and fellow outside corner Sam Shields are playing at a high level this season, and safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has been everything the Packers have hoped for thus far. With 32 tackles, six passes defended, and a pick thrown in for good measure, Williams has certainly filled up the stat sheet in what has been a nice bounce-back season for the veteran. With Shields out, Williams will need to continue to be at his best with Benjamin’s explosive playmaking ability looming this afternoon.

Wide receiver Jarrett Boykin is also active after missing some time, as he was listed questionable on the injury report with a groin injury after practicing this week. Always expected to play ever since hitting the practice field, Boykin will be the team’s No. 4 receiver behind rising rookie Davante Adams, who has better hands and more talent. That said, Boykin is a very good No. 4 guy to have, and he is active over rookie Jeff Janis, who is a healthy scratch.
