Titans Trade Akeem Ayers to Patriots

The Tennessee Titans have dealt former 2nd round selection to the New England Patriots. The trade is pending a physical.
The Titans have decided to trade their former 2nd round selection, Akeem Ayers, to the New England Patriots per Jim Wyatt. Ayers was stuck at the end of the bench for the Titans even through he was a starter for the first 3 seasons of his career. When the new coaching staff came into town, he was unable to crack the starting lineup and he barely saw time on the field. He only has played in a couple of games this season. He had surgery in the offseason on his knees, but he was healthy enough to play. The team just didn’t want to get him on the field though.

The Patriots are sure to give him an opportunity to get onto the field. He still is young at 25-years old and has played as a starter in the league. He should have some talent for the Patriots to milk out.
While with the Patriots, he could get some time at outside linebacker and also could see some time at end. He was a highly rated linebacker coming out of UCLA and was taken in the 2nd round. For some reason, the Titans didn’t want to use him on the field any longer. So the Patriots will find a way to get him on the field instead.
In order to acquire Ayers, the Patriots and Titans will also trade their 6th round selection in exchange for the Titans 7th round selection according to Jason LaCanfora. Basically, the Patriots are getting Ayers for nothing! Seems like a steal for the Patriots on this one.
