Brian Quick out for the season

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Brian Quick always had the potential to make a sizeable impact in this league, and he has done just that for the Rams this season with 25 receptions for 375 yards and three touchdowns despite playing in an unfavorable environment, except perhaps where targets are concerned. Quick has shown off his playmaking ability with 15 yards per reception, but, sadly, he won’t have a chance to add to his stats in what would have been a big breakout season for the third-year Appalachian State product.

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier today that Quick is likely done for the year with a dislocated shoulder, and league sources tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Jim Thomas that Quick is indeed out for the season, as he dislocated his left shoulder and tore his rotator cuff. It’s a nasty injury by all accounts, and the focus is now on his ability to get back on track for the 2015 season; he’ll almost certainly have a new quarterback tossing him passes, and that will definitely help him put up even better numbers.

Quick was spotted wearing a sling following the 34-7 blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, though the severity of the injury was unclear. He suffered the injury on a reception in the second quarter and needed plenty of medical attention before being ruled out for the remainder of the game. There’s no doubt that Quick’s loss is a huge blow to the Rams, but we’ll see what Stedman Bailey can do going forward.
