Werewolves of Fantasy Football: Flex Rankings Week 9
I saw a werewolf in fantasy. A scary beast. He was more than a mortal man. He would romp through rushing lanes leading followers to reap the benefits of his triumphs. There were many in fact who reveled in success after success following this werewolf from battle to battle, for years. Until, when the followers least suspected it, the moon fell past the horizon and the werewolf turned back into a.. RB2.

It’s a scary thought when you consider how much your team will suffer if you lose your beast. There’s a ton of factors that could turn your player into a werewolf of fantasy football. Things that will affect the way a player performs from week to week. Forget the actual match-ups on the field. There are things we may never see. Things like his dog runs away, he forgot to go to the DMV, he makes a mistake on twitter.. There’s trillions of stupid little things we will never notice about them.
So, who are the werewolves who might be looking at a setting moon? Some running backs who, at least for the start of this season have performed pretty good. Guys, however who you’re still not totally sure you can win a championship with in your league. Guys like.. Welll..

Marshawn Lynch comes to mind. A lot of you are going to think I’m crazy. I think it will be tough to win it all with him as your RB1. I don’t think it’s entirely his fault however. His offensive line is not playing the same as it did a year ago. Little by little the rest of the league appears to be catching up to what they do on offense. People no longer have that ‘the little engine that could’ mentality about Russell Wilson and the rest of that offense. In turn, this makes Lynch suffer. It’s OK, it’s a part of the game. Always changing. So, the Seahawks are going to need to change. Tweak, twist, turn things into something they’re not or something they haven’t been. If you were fortunate to draft Lynch then Arian Foster you look much better. So don’t think I want you to trade Lynch away in every scenario. I think, based on namesake you can make deal which can vastly improve your team.
DeMarco Murray is another one. Call me sneaky.. Or paranoid.. Or just freaked out but I am an extremely nervous DeMarco owner. He is the ultimate werewolf of fantasy. He’s rock ’em, sock ’em, kick ass kind of dude right now. That ankle injury two weeks ago was the ultimate reminder of how quick a cloud can cover up that moon. I keep getting deals for Murray, but I don’t want to be the guy who traded him away when I could have won. I have to play my season much like the Cowboys do. Saddle up and pray Joseph Randle is a good enough handcuff.

I know we are talking about running backs. There is a wide receiver I felt should be mentioned. Antonio Brown has a chance to be werewolf of fantasy. Believe me when I tell you, I love him. Make no bones about it. I am glad..Super glad to be an owner of his. Again, maybe I’m paranoid. I wonder how much work he’ll be contributing when the Steelers are out of the playoff picture come weeks 14, 15 and 16? It has already been an up and down season for that offense. There will be a considerable hangover after Big Ben’s 6TD performance. Maybe, I take a look at what kind of running back I could get in a trade. Maybe with another throw in Wide receiver. Don’t give him away for just anything. Remember, it comes down to how you feel.
Let’s get to the Flex Rankings. Just to remind.. I use Yahoo! scoring where rushing and receiving yards are scored the same. If you have comments or questions or places to enjoy a fun Halloween this Friday you can do that below. Enjoy!
