Kyle Rudolph could face Chicago Bears in Week 11
Minnesota Vikings star tight end Kyle Rudolph missed half of the season in 2013 with a serious injury, and he’s played in just three games so far this year due to a sports hernia, for which he needed surgery for. Rudolph’s timeline was hit at 6-8 weeks, and he’s still on track to meet that timetable, and a realistic return date has always been the game against the Chicago Bears following the Week 10 bye.

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press’s Chris Tomasson, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer stated that Rudolph could return to face the rival Bears on the 16th of November, and while Zimmer only used the word “possible”, it makes plenty of sense. It all hinges on how healthy Rudolph is at that point, but he seems to have been making solid progress following the procedure.
Rudolph caught ten passes for 96 yards and a touchdown in his three appearances this year, and his return would be huge for Teddy Bridgewater and the rest of the offense. Not only is he a very talented TE whom Norv Turner would obviously love to have back in the fold, he can also function as a key safety valve for Bridgewater, especially since the Vikings offensive line, particularly Matt Kalil, has been a massive disappointment.
Facing the Bears defense would be a great, light matchup for Rudolph, and it would allow him to have extra rest following the bye. Getting him back for that rivalry game would give the Vikings a nice boost, and it starting to seem pretty clear that Week 11 is the target date.
