Tom Brady Shows Signs of New Life
Week eight, vs Chicago Bears (win [slaughter fest])
Tom Brady took this game into his own hands and worked his classic Brady magic. Not to be taboo, but Brady looked like the Brady of old. He was seeing the field at an elite level, and the placement on some of his throws was stunning. Truly, it was a treat to watch.
Brandon LaFell had been a big part of the offense for a few weeks by now, but Tom Brady really got a lot out of him vs Chicago. Whether it be Brady fitting tight window to LaFell on the sideline or Brady finding LaFell over the top, the two were a lethal duo that Chicago’s defense did not have an answer for. LaFell was finding ways to get open, and Brady was finding ways to get him the ball.
As stated, the most impressive aspect of this game in relation to Brady was his field vision. He was not locking in on targets much at all. Rather, Brady was letting plays develop in order to find the best option across the field, allowing him to throw a year-high five touchdowns. Of course, finding a viable option required his receivers to get open, but they were getting open about as well as they were for most of the season, so the increased production was, as said, more about Brady having a stellar game.
