Reggie Wayne will not be limited

Indianapolis Colts veteran wide receiver Reggie Wayne missed last week’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers after suffering an elbow injury in the team’s Week 7 shutout win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Wayne didn’t seem to suffer a significant injury against the Bengals, but he went with Trent Richardson for an MRI the following day and was unable to suit up last week. After missing practice on Thursday and looking like a potential toss-up, Wayne practiced fully on Friday and Saturday before being listed as probable on the Colts official injury report.

  • As Colts head coach Chuck Pagano stated yesterday, Wayne will play in tomorrow night’s marquee matchup against the New York Giants on MNF, and that much is clear. What wasn’t clear to some was whether or not Wayne would be limited, but, per Colts official site beat writer Kevin Bowen, the wide receiver stated that he will not be limited tomorrow.

Wayne said, “If I’m going out there, I’m expecting to play. If I’m going to be limited, I might as well continue to get treatment.”

Although Wayne isn’t going to be limited, it’s possible that the Colts could decrease his role, because Ole Miss rookie Donte Moncrief was excellent in his absence last week, recording a 100-yard day. He’ll be facing a significantly better secondary this week, but Moncrief has great physical tools and looked less raw than expected. Wayne will still be the No. 2 WR, but Moncrief looks poised to steal some targets from the veteran.
