Jadeveon Clowney frustrating Houston Texans?
Houston Texans No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney has only been able to play in two games this season, as he suffered a torn meniscus in Week 1 before returning to the field last week against the rival Tennessee Titans. Clowney was a game-time decision the previous week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Texans decided to play it safe with their long-term investment, who didn’t even seem healthy enough to play effectively.

Clowney is expected to miss today’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but this latest expected absence is due to an illness and not any ill-effects of his knee injury. That said, it doesn’t sound like the Texans organization is happy with the South Carolina product, as the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the team is becoming frustrated with Clowney.
Rapoport reports that the Texans want Clowney to be more mature and learn how to battle tough injuries, so it definitely sounds like they are questioning his toughness here. I tend to reserve judgment on these sorts of things, but if a team is upset at someone for missing games due to an injury, there might be something to it. I wonder if we’ll learn about the nature of Clowney’s illness, though he isn’t locked in to miss today’s game either.
