Tom Brady has many nicknames that he’s accrued over the years, but there is one that speaks of his skill set in a certain month out of every year: Mr. October. After winning the AFC Player of the Month in October 2014 for the seventh time, Tom Brady is set to make waves in November after a stunning performance yesterday. So, as much as people might want to hate the Golden Boy from California, Tom Brady is the man.
Tom Brady has the ability to grow, even in his 15th season. He turned a crushing loss against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football in Week 4 as the fuel to his comeback, quieting all the naysayers who thought we’d seen the last of the great Tom Brady. And if it wasn’t for that painstaking, pathetic loss and benching performance, I’m not sure that Tom Brady and his Patriots would be in the position they are today sitting at the top of the AFC at 7-2. Tom Brady is like a fine wine that gets better with age, and with the fancy footwork we saw yesterday, he isn’t slowing down any time soon. The man loves to win, and absolutely loves to play football, and there is no denying that. Expect the man to quit when he has to, not because he wants to. Because he’s far from “sucking” yet.

Although Brady got his first interception in 5 games, the Patriots tamed Peyton Manning and his Broncos who didn’t stand a chance against Brady’s own high octane offense, a stellar special teams and a defensive front that allowed many yards but not many points. When Tom Brady and his offense went for the 2 extra points on an already 3TD lead it was almost as if they were taunting the Broncos. The rivalry between Brady and Manning is decades old, and why not give the people what they want? A great show that leaves people talking. The Broncos certainly spared no expense last year during the regular season when the two met in Week 12, with the Broncos leading at the half 24-0.
Ultimately, the Patriots and their leader needed this win against a Broncos to tell fans and critics what they’re all about. Winning. And doing it big. Hanging 43 points on the Broncos was a statement that speaks for itself. And they didn’t need overtime this year to get the win. Brady is the man.
