Giovani Bernard Expected to Be Held out on Thursday

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard will likely be held out in the Thursday Night Football game against the Cleveland Browns. He still is not on the practice field with the rest of his team as he is nursing a hip injury. With Bernard on the sideline, the team will turn to Jeremy Hill again to take the rock.

It is not like that is a bad option for the team. Hill took the ball 24 times last week and finished the game with 154 yards and a couple of touchdowns. That is dang good production from the backup on the roster.

Bernard will get the extra rest and prepare to get back onto the field in the following week. This rest will be good for him to heal up and prep for the stretch run into the playoffs. Hill has already shown that he can handle the duty, so Bernard doesn’t have to rush his return.

Hill will likely have another solid performance since the team is going up against the Cleveland Browns and their run defense. The holes should open up and Hill should pick up some nice yards for the team.

The Bengals are at home and will be looking to take out the Browns. The Browns are still hanging around in the standings and could look to take a spot in first place with a win against the Bengals. This game is big for the Bengals.
