Tony Romo, Mark Ingram Injury Updates

Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Tony Romo did not play against the Arizona Cardinals last week, and backup QB Brandon Weeden looked as incompetent as ever in the team’s loss. The Cowboys were never really close to winning, but at least the week off gave Romo some time to rest before today’s London game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Romo seems healthy enough to play through two fractured transverse processes, but I also don’t think he would have played today if Weeden did well against the Cardinals. First of all, the Jaguars are probably the easiest matchup for the Cowboys this season, and, secondly, sitting Romo today would have given him extra rest due to the Cowboys Week 11 bye.

That said, it was important to have him out there this week, especially after the awful game Weeden played against Arizona. Romo was always expected to play after being listed probable, and the NFL Network’s Kimberly Jones confirms that the top-ten QB is indeed active today.

With Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas ruled out for another week, rising feature back Mark Ingram has a chance to put together another strong game, and he won’t have to face Patrick Willis, who is inactive for a third straight game. Ingram has averaged 4.9 yards per carry this season with six TDs in just five appearances, and he’s going to get a big opportunity in the offseason if he leaves the Saints (which we expect him to).

ESPN NFL Nation’s Mike Triplett reports that Ingram is indeed active today against the San Francisco 49ers after being listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, but his status was never in any sort of doubt. He is a must-start in fantasy this week with Robinson and Thomas out, and I expect him to have another strong day on the ground.
