The Detroit Lions are dealing with injuries to all three of their talented tight ends, as rookie Eric Ebron is doubtful, and Brandon Pettigrew and Joseph Fauria have both been listed questionable on the injury report. That said, it looks like Pettigrew and Fauria are expected to play, and we’ve heard some positive reports regarding Pettigrew during pre-game warm-ups.

  • Lions official site beat writer Tim Twentyman expects Pettigrew to suit up today against the red-hot Miami Dolphins, who are fresh off of a 37-0 drubbing of the San Diego Chargers, and Twentyman tweeted this out after observing the TE performing ladder drills. Pettigrew has always been expected to play today, though that expectation hasn’t been strong, though it is becoming more likely now.

Pettigrew has caught just nine passes for 68 yards this season, but he will play a bigger role against the Dolphins this week with Ebron doubtful. Last week, Pettigrew was doubtful with the foot injury and was unable to play against the Atlanta Falcons. He had the bye week to rest, though, and his ability to play this week is key for a Lions team that could have been incredibly thin at the tight end position today against the Dolphins.
