Baltimore Ravens MVP is Justin Forsett
By Ernie Padaon
Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett has given the team life. His ability on offense has been huge for the team. with all the mess that the team had at the runningback situation to start the year, nobody knew who the team would lean on at the position. Justin Forsett was just a player that was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars and was brought in to give Ray Rice a breather from time to time and could get some chances on special teams as well, but what he has done to this point was not expected.
More from Baltimore Ravens
- Baltimore Ravens boast bizarre, fun, meaningless preseason stat
- Three 2023 free agents who won’t live up to their contract
- 2023 NFL Season: 3 major in-season trades that could go down
- 5 Baltimore Ravens players who could break out in 2023
- Ravens will rely on first round WRs to revive dismal passing attack
What he has done has helped this offense and team compete for the top spot in the division. The division is highly contested at this point with all 4 teams within a game of each other.
Forsett will be needed to help the team make a run. At 5-foot-8, nobody had expected him to become the lead back on the roster. Nobody had expected him to last through the season. There still are plenty of games to play and Forsett will need to prove that he can keep putting the running game on his shoulders.
The Ravens have played in 10 games and Forsett will need to endure another 6 in the regular season. If the Ravens get into the playoffs, then we know that Forsett has done his job in those final 6 games.
This year, Forsett has played in all 10 games and has 721 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns. Both are career highs. He finally has been given the opportunity to be the lead back and he has been shining. The Ravens need 6 more games.
