Peyton Manning expected to play at least another season

Denver Broncos star quarterback Peyton Manning has been racking up some more incredible numbers this season, as new wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has made the offense even more advanced, allowing Manning and offensive coordinator Adam Gase to do some new things in the passing game. Sanders fits the mold of the new-age wide receiver, because he can line up in the slot or on the outside, and he can also run just about every route in the book. If you want to go deep, Sander can do that, and he can also use his quickness and agility to win in the short and intermediate games.

Manning already has 29 touchdowns this season with an excellent 67.7% completion percentage, and he’s really racking up the passing yards with an average of 323.6 per game. After today’s contest against the St. Louis Rams, Manning will have over 3,000 passing yards on the year, and he’s averaging the second-most yards per game of his career (his highest total was last season).

The man has shown no signs of slowing down, so it’s not surprising to hear the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport report that “Broncos people” expect Manning to play for at least another season. Rapoport reports that Manning cares about beating Brett Favre in every passing record, and that’s certainly an achievable goal for arguably the best QB in NFL history. But one thing that could make Manning retire earlier than expected is a Super Bowl win, and the reason why that could impact things is pretty much self-explanatory.
