Jacksonville Jaguars Dwayne Gratz cited for two misdemeanors
Jacksonville Jaguars second-year cornerback Dwayne Gratz was absent from practice today, and head coach Gus Bradley stated that “an unfortunate situation” caused his absence. Those words sounded eery, and the first thing that came into mind was “personal situation”. Thankfully, it isn’t anything that dire, though the “unfortunate situation” has to deal with a run-in with the law.

According to Big Cat Country’s excellent Alfie Crow, Gratz was cited for two misdemeanors over the weekend, as he was arrested for trespassing and disorderly intoxication. I’m sure the last thing Bradley wanted was to have one of his starters arrested, and it will be interesting to see if the team disciplines him. He isn’t going to be disciplined by the league for two misdemeanors of this nature, but I wonder if Bradley and the Jaguars organization feel differently.
Gratz has been a major disappointment here in his sophomore season, as the UConn product has taken a step back after an incredibly promising rookie season in which he showed off nice ball skills, the ability to use his frame, and plenty of upside as a future No. 1 corner in this league. But Gratz has been burned frequently this season, as, per the Pro Football Focus, he’s allowed a QB Rating of around 130 with four TDs allowed, no picks, and an average of 17.3 yards per reception allowed.
