Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has been suspended for at least the rest of the 2014 season without pay. He has appealed the suspension.
Adrian Peterson has been suspended without pay for the rest of the 2014 season by Commissioner Roger Goodell. Peterson had pleaded no contest in court to a misdemeanor count of reckless injury by hitting his 4-year old child with a switch several times. That siutuation is ugly and is up for the court to decide his penalty, but the NFL Commissioner has made his decision on what he will be doing with him in the league.

The Minnesota Vikings have been playing without him for the whole season already, so it will not be any adjustment that they will have to make for this season, but they may be looking for a running back in the offseason. They may need to look at the draft and find somone to bring onto the roster at the end of the year. The suspension is for ‘at least’ the rest of this season, but there is no end date that has been given to this point.
Peterson has appealed the suspension and the NFLPA is asking for a neutral 3rd part to deal with the handling of his suspension. I don’t know if he will win this appeal. I am sure that he would love to get on the field to put someo nf this in the past, but at this point, he will have to wait till next season.
