9. Denver at San Diego (Week 15):

Philip Rivers began the year on fire, as did the Chargers that have now ‘fallen’ to 6-4 on the year. Despite a recent rough stretch San Diego finds itself only one game out of first place. When these two teams collide there could be quite a lot at stake — specifically for the Chargers. The Peyton Manning led Broncos seem to be playoff bound one way or another, but a loss to the Chargers could shake things up in the AFC West considerably.

8. Arizona at San Francisco (Week 17):

The surprise team of the year is Arizona (9-1). Although, should they really have surprised anyone? The Cardinals finished 10-6 a year ago and brought back a quality roster. Even without starting quarterback Carson Palmer they’re a dangerous squad (as they proved last week in their win over Detroit). A win for San Francisco could push the 49ers into the playoffs and who knows, maybe the Cards will be resting their starters at this point. But with a backup quarterback and five games to play before this match-up, I wouldn’t bet on that.

7. Denver at Kansas City (Week 13):

This is the third Broncos’ game on this list and the second of three Chiefs’ games as well. The point? The AFC West is going to be involved in a lot of high-profile games down the stretch because of how hotly contested the division is. These squads are tied for first place of the division (both at 7-3) and the winner will have a definite leg up as December rolls around. The game is in Kansas City where the Chiefs are 4-1 and the Broncos are just 2-3 on the road this year. Advantage Arrowhead.
