Ben Tate Claimed By Minnesota Vikings

Ben Tate was released by the Cleveland Browns yesterday and he was immediately picked up by the Minnesota Vikings today. He should get the opportunity to start .

The Minnesota Vikings have claimed Ben Tate off of waivers today and he will join the team this week. This will be a nice spot for Tate to land since he will get the opportunity to take the ball.

The Vikings depended on Peterson to take the ball this season, but he will be out for the rest of the year with his recent suspension. The team has not had a good answer for the run game without Peterson available.

Now Tate will be one of the options for the team and he could take the ball immediately on offense. Definitely a good move for the Vikings.

Tate wanted to get out of Houston so that he could get more opportunities to run the ball, so he signed with the Cleveland Browns. He had a chance with the Browns, but lost his opportunities to the rookies that the team picked up this season. He gets another chance at a starting gig in Minnesota now.

Ben Tate showed the ability to be a solid starter while he was with Houston. He wasn’t playing well with the Browns though and now the Vikings will be hoping that they get the back that showed potential in Houston.
