Week 11 featured eight running backs that ran for 100 yards or more. Interestingly enough, six of the seven teams for whom those players play, won this week. This displays that a strong running game is still extremely important, even if the league is becoming more pass heavy. It was very difficult to choose and feel free to disagree, but these are my top 5:
Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs: 20 carries 159 yards 2 TDs, 2 Rec 19 yards, vs. Seattle Seahawks
Charles ripped through a Seattle Seahawks run defense that showed huge flaws in their first game without star defensive tackle Brandon Mebane. Charles looked extremely explosive throughout the entire game, averaging an amazing 7.95 yards per attempt. Charles continues to live up to his reputation as one of the, if not the, best running back in the NFL. One thing that surprises me is that he is being significantly underutilized in the pass game. Last year he saw 104 targets, while this year he has only had 30 so far. If the Chiefs can feature him more, their offense will become even more potent.
