25. Brian Hoyer, Cleveland Browns (-1)

Cleveland and Hoyer let all of us down after that impressive victory over Cincinnati. Most of us probably thought that the Browns’ taste of first place in the AFC North would inevitably come to an end, and Hoyer was brought back to earth by the Texans’ defense.

26. Zach Mettenberger, Tennessee Titans (+2)

Mettenberger held up better than most expected against Pittsburgh. It’s a shame that Tennessee didn’t hold on to win, as that might cloud over an extremely impressive performance (after he threw a pick-six in the first quarter).

27. Josh McCown, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (± –)

If these rankings were based solely on the most recent week, McCown would be in the top half of all quarterbacks. But remember McCown’s first starting stint with Tampa Bay? Because of that, He’s this low on the list. With that said, he played his best game of the season against Washington. The fact that McCown did what he did against the ‘Skins’ defense makes it less impressive, but he managed the game well and made some big throws to Mike Evans.

28. Mark Sanchez, Philadelphia Eagles (-7)

Green Bay’s defense is markedly better than Carolina’s. This isn’t 2013. Sanchez had a rough outing against the Packers’ defense. I’m sure those who advocated for Sanchez to take over the starting spot for Foles (even when he comes back) are scratching their heads.

29. Michael Vick, New York Jets (+2)

Although the Jets were off last week, Vick moves up by default due to two quarterbacks below who were moved behind him.

30. Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota Vikings (-2)

I don’t like ESPN’s “QBR” system in general, but Bridgewater posted a 21.1 rating (out of 100) according to the worldwide leader in sports. If you’re bad at math, that’s not good. I understand the Vikings lack depth at a lot of positions, but Bridgewater must play better for Minnesota to win games.

31. Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars (± 0)

No movement for Bortles coming off a bye week. According to PFF, Bortles throws an interception on five percent of his passes – by far the highest in the NFL, and double that of Derek Carr. Over the last six games, Bortles needs to prove he’s the quarterback of the future for Jacksonville.

32. Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins (-4)

Sunday was arguably the worst game of Griffin’s career. He missed reads all day long, missed wide open throws, scrambled when he didn’t have to, and had a ton of other aspects of his game he needed to fix. I’m sure Jay Gruden can elaborate on those. This season, Griffin is technically credited with one win (Jacksonville), but he only took five snaps until he got hurt. In reality, Griffin is 0-3 on the year, and the harsh reality for Washington fans is that if he played better, the Redskins would have won all three of those games.
