Dwayne Allen, Khiry Robinson ruled out

Indianapolis Colts star tight end Dwayne Allen is one of the most underrated players in the NFL today, because he is a top-notch blocker and pass-catcher who would explode statistically if he didn’t have to contend with the likes of Coby Fleener soaking up targets around him. Allen has still managed to make his presence felt despite the limited targets, and his 14.4 yards per reception and seven touchdown catches highlight is Gronk-like ability to find the end zone and make big plays at the tight end position.

Unfortunately, the Colts won’t have Allen available this week against the Washington Redskins, though it’s not like Andrew Luck and the offense need him to score points on the dreadful Redskins secondary. Per RTV6’s Mike Chappell, Allen has been officially ruled out, and he was never expected to play this week. Allen’s status as a Week 13 inactive was sealed when he missed practice today, and we can only hope his ankle will be healed up by the time Week 14 rolls around, though we don’t have any indication that this is a serious injury.

New Orleans Saints running back Khiry Robinson, on the other hand, is dealing with a serious injury, and it will, as expected, cost him a sixth game. He hasn’t played since the Week 7 game against the Detroit Lions and old offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, and the Saints have officially ruled Robinson out this week. That doesn’t come as a surprise, and Robinson will likely have to practice at the beginning of a given week in order to suit up.
