The Green Bay Packers welcome the New England Patriots to Lambeau Field this Sunday for what many are considering the game of the week. Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady will dominate the headlines in this clash of two powerhouses, in a potential preview of the Super Bowl.
Just two months ago the sky was falling in New England, but how wrong we all were. The Patriots have won seven games in a row, and their 27-25 victory over the New York Jets in October was the only matchup that was close. They will face their biggest test of the season, however, in a Green Bay Packers team that is playing their best football of the year.
Offensive efficiency will be the name of the game in this one, as Green Bay and New England boast the two highest-scoring offenses in the NFL. The Packers have a league-low eight turnovers on the season, while New England sits close behind with only nine.

In Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, this game features two Super Bowl MVP Quarterbacks who are making a strong case for the league’s top regular season honour in 2014. Brady is completing 65% of his passes for 26 TD and 6 INT in his strongest statistical season since 2011. Across the field, Rodgers is completing 66.7% of his passes for a stunning 30 TD and 3 INT.
While the Quarterbacking duel could turn into an unstoppable force against an immovable object, this game could hinge on which defense is able to make the first impact play. Darrelle Revis stars for New England, and is a threat to wipe out one of Green Bay’s top passing options, while Clay Matthews will look to reach Tom Brady from multiple positions for the Packers.
This game holds huge playoff implications, as well, with both teams fighting for a first-round bye in January. The Patriots sit atop the AFC currently at 9-2, while the 8-3 Green Bay Packers trail the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles for the top two spots on the NFC side. Ahead, I take a look at the three “keys to victory” for the Green Bay Packers as they look to continue their charge.
