Baltimore Ravens NT Haloti Ngata has been suspended for the final 4 games of the regular season for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs. He admits that he took Addarell and it was his mistake. Here is the statement that he made:

More from Baltimore Ravens

"“I made a mistake, and I own this,” Ngata said via a statement released by the team.“I took Adderall and take full responsibility for doing this. I am deeply sorry and broken up over this. I let down my family, my teammates, Ravens fans and myself. My hope is that the Ravens make the playoffs, and I believe they can do this. And, then I can come back and help us win.”"

The Ravens are in the middle of a playoff push and will have to continue on without their Pro Bowl defensive tackle. There are still 4 games left on the season. The Ravens face the Miami Dolphins this weekend and then close out the final 3 games against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns. The Dolphins, Texans and Browns are still in the playoff race and they all will avoid seeing Ngata in the middle of the defense. He would be eligible to return to the field if the team is able to get onto the field in the postseason. They will have to get there without the help of Haloti and they are on the outside looking in at the moment.

With Ngata out, the team will lean on Timmy Jernigan for more playing time. He has been playing well this season and his reps are about to increase. The Ravens defense isn’t the superpower that we all are used to seeing. Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers threw the ball all around the field on the defense last weekend. There are huge holes in the secondary in Baltimore and with the news about Ngata, there could be more room to run the ball on the defense as well. This suspension hurts, but this team has overcome a lot of different things this season already.
