Terrance Williams has disappeared in Cowboys offense
By Ernie Padaon
Where in the world has Terrance Williams been for the Dallas Cowboys offense? The Cowboys have taken a skid in 3 of the team’s last 5 games and Williams seems to have disappeared during that span. The Cowboys are fighting for a playoff spot after losing to the Eagles on Thanksgiving and now the team is now fighting for a playoff spot.
Terrance Williams has been invisible. He has been ghostly. In the last 6 games, Williams has averaged 27 yards per game and has only scored 1 touchdown in that time span. In the first 6 games of the season, Williams was averaging 53 yards per game and he scored 5 touchdowns. What happened?
Defenses are going to take away the Cowboys top options on offense. Dez Bryant is going to get all the attention from the secondary. He deserves that attention, but with everyone’s eyes in his direction, someone will need to step up on the other side to make plays.
The top option to make those plays is Williams. That is what the team is looking for from him. When the Cowboys were winning games early in the year, Williams was a solid option on offense. He has disappeared of late and the team has been skidding. He needs to step it up. The team needs to trust in him.
DeMarco Murray is running the ball down the throats of defenses this year. The offensive line is the best in the league. Dez Bryant is still producing despite all the attention from the other teams. Someone else on offense has to step their game up. Williams should be that guy. He has to be that guy.
If Williams can start to produce again, this team will be in the playoffs. They have to beat the Bears tonight and then come back to beat the Eagles in the following week. Williams will be a key player to watch.
