25. Eli Manning, New York Giants (-6)

The loss to Jacksonville is a low point in the Giants’ season. I can’t remember a time when the Giants were this dysfunctional. Manning’s had some excellent games this year (like two weeks ago against Dallas). He’s not getting much help from anybody besides Odell Beckham, and he threw the ball fairly well against the Jaguars, but he gave the game away with a late fumble that was returned for a touchdown. One can argue that Manning is better than he was last season; the Giants are simply worse, but the Giants’ quarterback may not be far off from last season’s lackluster showing.

26. Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders (-4)

The loss to St. Louis was the worst game of Carr’s career to this point. When Matt Schaub came in (and he threw a pick six, no surprise there), Carr probably knew that.

27. Drew Stanton, Arizona Cardinals (-7)

I initially agreed with Bruce Arians that Stanton could lead this team effectively. It turns out that Stanton is a huge downgrade from Carson Palmer. If the quarterback play doesn’t improve, there’s a real chance that Arizona could miss the playoffs entirely, after starting 9-1.

28. Brian Hoyer, Cleveland Browns (-3)

Most might have thought that Hoyer would’ve played better after that abysmal performance in Atlanta. Most people were wrong, and we saw what Johnny Manziel could do. Hoyer’s job, as well as the Browns’ playoff hopes, are on the line if he doesn’t improve.

29. Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars (± 0)

Finally. Bortles at last did what I wanted him to do – go one game without throwing an interception. He didn’t need to do much to win (as the Jags’ defense had two touchdowns), but Bortles didn’t hurt his team with ill-advised passes.

30. Josh McCown, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2)

The Bucs made the wrong decision when they benched Mike Glennon. McCown isn’t much better, if better at all, and Glennon was the only reason the Bucs won some games last season.

31. Zach Mettenberger, Tennessee Titans (-4)

Injury was added to insult when Mettenberger went down against Houston. The quarterback situation in Tennessee is a mess, and the team should be considered a favorite for Marcus Mariota as it will likely have a top five pick.

32. Geno Smith, New York Jets (± –)

This was where Smith was before Michael Vick replaced him – in the cellar of these power rankings. Rex Ryan tried everything he could to keep the ball away from Smith, and it almost worked until he was forced to. When Smith got his opportunity, he threw the ball into triple coverage – and it wasn’t a bad-looking throw, but it was picked off. I see why Ryan didn’t want to throw the ball on Monday night.
