Mike Pettine did an amazing job handling Johnny Manziel decision

Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine has done an amazing job of handling the quarterback controversy on his tam. The team has finally given the keys to Johnny Manziel to run the squad and he will get the opportunity to close out the season. If the Browns get some luck, they could get a chance at the playoffs as well.

Pettine allowed Brian Hoyer every opportunity to take this team to the playoffs. Hoyer brought this team to this point, but showed that he can’t do anything more for the team to get them in. If anything, Pettine waited a game too long to make the change. He stuck with his guns and stuck with his quarterback until the decision had to be made.

After the last performance from Hoyer, there is no doubt that the change needs to be made. He gave Hoyer all the opportunity to lead the team into the playoffs after taking the starting role on the team to start out the season but he wasn’t able to perform in the end. If he gave Manziel the keys too early and he fell flat on his face, then there would be fans saying that Pettine should have never pulled the trigger. Now the only hindsight criticism will be that Pettine pulled the trigger too late.

It is time to go with the young rookie and let the Johnny Football era begin in Cleveland. Johnny has spent his time backing up Hoyer and learning the offense. He now has the opportunity that he has been waiting for. He will take center stage on Sunday and everyone will be watching to see how the young kid performs with the starting role. The excitement is building to see the kid play. If he tears it up in his first game, then the fans will be saying that Pettine should have pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago.

At this time, Pettine looks like he has done a great job with the decision. What do you think about Pettine’s handling of the situation?
