Injuries have been overwhelming
Just look at the number of injuries that the Giants has had to overcome this season. Look at some of the key players that team has had to continue the season without.
On offense, their top playmaker (at the time) Victor Cruz was lost for the season. Could you imagine what this offense could look like if Cruz were available. They were banking on the offense to have his playmaking ability on the field, but he went down with the knee injury and has not been able to contribute.
On defense, the team lost their defensive captain Jon Beason. The Giants traded for Beason last season and he has been a top performer for the team. Beason fit in perfect with the scheme and the roster. He was ready to produce this season, but was lost early for the whole season with an injury as well.
How many key injuries was the team supposed to overcome?
Coughlin should at least get the chance to work with a full deck of cards. Imagine what Cruz could do on that offense with that young rookie. I am sure Coughlin has thought about it.
