Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-12)
Tampa brought over Josh McCown to run the show in the offseason, but he has not panned out. He started 9 games for the Bucs this season and was only able to lead the team to a victory against the Washington Redskins. He has thrown an interception in every game this season, except for his performance against the Redskins. He has 1944 yards passing for 10 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The team will be looking for a new solution.
Mike Glennon was believed the be the future at the position, but the team seems to be leaning in a different direction. They have started McCown for the last 6 games. Shouldn’t the team give the young player more opportunities to get on the field to get some experience? Glennon started 5 games this season and has a 1-4 record.
The Buccaneers are favorites for the Marcus Mariota sweepstakes. If they are able to land that top draft selection, we would expect Mariota to be the new quarterback for the team and all the possibilities of Cutler will disappear.
If Cutler were to head to Tampa, he would get to join his former head coach Lovie Smith again. Jay had a record of 34-22 under coach Smith.
