New York Jets (3-11)
The New York Jets have been piecing players together to form an offense. They traded for Percy Harvin and signed Eric Decker from free agency. They added Chris Johnson in the backfield to join Chris Ivory and now they are looking for someone to throw the ball. Is Geno Smith the answer to the problem in New York? He has been the guys that Rex Ryan has been rolling with.
The team will have to figure out who will coach the team team first and then he could decide if Geno Smith is a fit on the roster. Smith has started 12 games this season and has led the team to 2 victories. There were a few games in which Rex barely asked him to throw the ball. Against the Miami Dolphins in week 13, he was only asked to throw the ball 13 times in the game and the Jets almost won the game.
This is only his second season in the league and still has some growing to do. He has thrown 9 touchdowns this season and 12 interceptions. The ratio is better than the 12 touchdowns and 21 interceptions in his rookie season, but the team had expected more with the new weapons on the roster.
Geno will be on the roster for another season. The Jets could bring in another veteran to push him. They also could use a head coach that can groom a young quarterback. Cutler could be a veteran to get some playing time while Geno develops.
