Limit Turnovers

While Philip Rivers has been one of the Chargers MVPs this year, he has hurt them deeply in the past few weeks. Since week 12 against the Rams, Rivers has thrown eight interceptions and has averaged a 60.06% completion percentage. Multiple times Rivers interceptions have been taken back by opposing DBs for defensive touchdowns. Last week Rivers threw three interceptions, with one of them going to the house.

In the second half of this season, the Chargers have had problems with turning over the football. Since week eight, they’ve turned it over 17 times (about twice per game). San Diego needs to cut down on turnovers if it is going to reach the playoffs. Philip Rivers threw one interception against the Chiefs in their week seven meeting and look where it went for them.

If Rivers (and the other Chargers offensive players) can reduce the amount of times they turn over the ball, the game is theirs. But, if the Bolts make stupid decisions and cough up the football, they could be missing the playoffs at the end of Sunday night.
