Chicago Bears: GM Phil Emery, Head Coach Marc Trestman have been fired, per Chicago Sun Times

Marc Trestman was just known as the quarterback whisperer last season. How the times have changed in Chicago. Trestman lasted only a couple of seasons with the team before he was relieved of his tenure. It seemed like he would be on his way to creating a solid offense on this roster with Jay Cutler running the quarterback with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery at receiver. He was able to get success out of Josh McCown on offense, but the team fell apart this season instead.

Trestman only lasted 32 games with the team, which is the second shortest stay  in team history next to Paddy Driscoll’s 24 games. At least the team was quickly able to identify their mistake.

GM Phil Emery had been with the team for 3 seasons before he was fired. Emery’s career as the GM in Chicago is highlighted by the firing of head coach Lovie Smith, the signing of Marc Trestman as the head coach to take over and the big money contract that was given to Jay Cutler. He was unable to find an impact player on the defense.
