While offensive tackle could be a big need for the Chiefs, it isn’t nearly as pressing as guard. Rookie Zach Fulton struggled, but he showed enough improvement to warrant another look in 2015. That said, former Indianapolis Colts OL Jeff Linkenbach isn’t worth starting, because there’s just no upside in starting him. He doesn’t offer much to this team, other than the fact that he isn’t terrible, which is the adjective most would use to describe Mike McGlynn.

Since the Chiefs only above-average starter on the line is center Rodney Hudson, it makes total sense for the Chiefs to fill the void at guard that both Jon Asamoah and Geoff Schwartz left behind last offseason. If I were the Chiefs, I would go after both a guard and a tackle, but I would prefer to sign a guard if they can only make one sweeping upgrade to their line. I mean, it’s the least they could do for Jamaal Charles, who was really laboring throughs some ailments this season.
