5. Packers Undefeated At Home, Cowboys Undefeated On Road: Something’s Gotta Give

Never before has a team that was undefeated at home in the regular season hosted a team in the postseason that was undefeated on the road throughout the regular season. In the entire history of the NFL, dating back to 1920, this has never happened. Yes NFL history buff, I’m aware that a playoff structure wasn’t put in place until the 1930s. Even so, this is quite remarkable and it means that on Sunday we all get to tune it to watch a truly historic game.

One of these amazing eight-game streaks will definitely come to an end on Sunday. Which streak is more amazing? The Cowboys’ road winning streak of course. Being that consistently great on the road is in all ways unbelievable. Which streak is more dominant? I suppose I’d lean toward the Packers’ home winning streak because they outscored their opponents by 155 points in those eight home games (Cowboys did so by 94 in their eight road games).

Green Bay dropped 40 points four times and 50 points twice at home and defeated New England, Detroit, Carolina and Philadelphia at home. The Cowboys had arguably only two impressive road wins and those were against Seattle and Philadelphia.

My gut says…

This game is going to be incredibly even matched. I’m not ready to give my prediction quite yet.
