During the 2013 season, Chargers fans witnessed a nearly career-ending neck injury of WR Malcom Floyd. Nearly a year later, Floyd rebounded like nobody saw coming. In 2014, he lead the Chargers in yards per catch (16.5), receiving yards (856) and longest reception (59-yarder). In terms of receivers, Floyd definitely was the most improved Charger receiver in that he came back from a career-threatening injury and lead the Bolts in receiving yardage.

In terms of other receivers, Eddie Royal and Keenan Allen were big presences for the Chargers. Royal lead all receivers with seven touchdowns as well as catches of 20 yards or more (14). The Chargers would have received a higher grade in receiving, but Keenan Allen’s production was a reason for my hesitation. After going for big yardage and touchdowns in his rookie season, Allen’s stats decline significantly. He regained his form somewhat towards the end of the season, but was never the same as in 2013.

Overall though, the Chargers made some good strides with Floyd and even in sleeper Dontrelle Inman who was instrumental in the Chargers win against the 49ers. With everybody coming back next season, there is much promise in this receiving corps.
. WR. San Diego Chargers. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS WIDE RECEIVERS. B-
