Special Teams and coaching:

Both teams have a very solid punting team and a great kicker. I do think Stephen Gostkowski is a bit better as he is basically automatic from 40-49 yard range, while Steven Hauschka has missed a few from that range. Kicking and Punting could both become a huge aspect of this game, especially since both teams do have very good defenses. In the return game, the Patriots have the clear advantage because Julian Edelman can break off a great return at any time. He already is one of the best, if not the best punt returner in the game. Seattle is clearly lacking in their return game departments, especially since they traded away Percy Harvin. Both of these coaches have nothing but respect for each other, and both are great coaches. Bill Belichick does have more experience than Pete Carroll so I would give him a slight edge, but both have really put together a great team and will make sure their team comes ready to play. Also note that this will be Dan Quinn’s last game as Seattle’s defensive coordinator.

Advantage: Patriots

Seattle Seahawks 2, New England Patriots 2 (1 tie)
