Marshawn Lynch, the Seattle Seahawks’ running back, is known for giving some of the most, well, interesting responses to questions from the media. Everyone remembers how he told Deion Sanders that he’s “Just about that action, boss” when asked why he doesn’t like interviews on last year’s Super Bowl Media Day.

Some people find Lynch annoying while others find him oddly endearing. I’m not sure how I feel, but I can’t argue with him. In that same interview with Sanders he said, “I ain’t never seen no talking win me nothing.”

He’s right. He didn’t spend much time talking before the game and then he went out and scored a touchdown in Seattle’s 43-8 throttling of Denver in last year’s Super Bowl. In an era of intense media coverage, trash-talk, and bulletin board material it’s somewhat refreshing to see a player abstain from it all.

The player affectionately known as Beast Mode led off this year’s Super Bowl Media Day press conference by saying,

"“Hey, I’m just here so I won’t get fined. So, ya’ll can sit here and ask me all the questions ya’ll want to. I’m gonna answer with the same answer, so, ya’ll can shoot if ya’ll please.”"

He then repeated “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” 28 times — literally. The press conference turned into a circus as reporters asked him 28 different questions despite the fact that they knew he was going to give the same reply. There were a few audible chuckles as time went on and Lynch became a Media Day storyline for the second straight year.

I don’t think the Seattle organization cares one way or another about Lynch’s antics. He’s not hurting anyone by not answering questions and the Seahawks have proved that his actions do not cause distractions for the team.

Of course, “Beast Mode” doesn’t really care if the NFL does fine him as evidenced by his continual crotch-grab touchdown celebration. If he does it on Sunday it’ll cost his team 15 yards, the NFL warned.

I’d have to believe that antic will be enough to get head coach Pete Carroll riled up as that would actually hurt the team. I wonder what the line is in Vegas for if we’ll see a Lynch crotch-grab in the big game? I honestly would not be shocked if we saw one. The New England Patriots better hope that he doesn’t get a reason to all game.
