Defensive Tackle. Washington. Danny Shelton. 17. player. 13.
In what is already a youthful defensive line, the San Diego Chargers will continue to stack their chips on young talent, drafting Danny Shelton with the seventeenth pick in the draft.

Last season, the Chargers were excellent in pass coverage. They finished fourth in the league in passing yards allowed per game. However, at times, they struggled containing the running game, finishing 26th in the NFL. Drafting Shelton will go a long way for the Chargers in solidifying them up front.

Shelton is a rare breed of defensive tackles. Hell, he might even shoot up the boards even more and be a top ten pick. He has that much potential. Mainly, the potential comes from his great size and ability to move. He commands and splits double-teams, relieving pressure from the other members of the line.

CBS Sports scout Rob Rang recently compared Shelton to New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork. While Rang doesn’t believe Shelton will be as dominant of a pass rusher, his overall game is good enough to warrant him as one of the top defensive tackle prospects.

player. 124.
There is still plenty of time from now till’ draft day, therefore, I will shoot Sammie Coates up the draft board, putting him at the 18th spot.

Mainly, Coates his here because of the pressing need at receiver in Kansas City, and because of his raw, untapped potential. Coates battled through some inconsistencies last season at Auburn, however, when he is on, he is tough to stop.

The Chiefs desperately need a receiver, as it is the one part missing on what could be a potent offense. Last year, quarterback Alex Smith threw for 18 touchdowns. While he isn’t the type of quarterback that is going to throw for 4,500 yards and 40 touchdowns, he still needs a receiver to throw to, and last season, the Chiefs receivers recorded no touchdowns and caught just 129 of Alex Smith’s 303 completions.

Again, it might be a bit high for Coates, but with plenty of time from now till’ the draft, he will have the opportunity to increase his stock.
. Wide Receiver. Aubrun. Sammie Coates. 18
